DiplomacyCraft supports Bedrock Edition clients through Floodgate and Geyser, allowing players on mobile, console, and Windows 10/11 Edition to join and play alongside Java Edition players.

__TOC__

How It Works
Geyser acts as a protocol translator, converting Bedrock Edition network traffic into Java Edition packets so Bedrock clients can connect to a Java server. Floodgate works alongside Geyser to allow Bedrock accounts to authenticate without needing a Java Edition account.

Together they allow Bedrock players to join, chat, claim land in Towny, trade, and participate in all server mechanics just like Java players.

Connecting
Bedrock players connect using diplomacycraft.swainlabs.net on port 19132.

Note: Bedrock players will have their username prefixed with a
.
(period) in-game to distinguish them from Java players. This prefix is NOT required when entering your username on voting sites.

Limitations
Due to differences between the Java and Bedrock clients, some features may behave differently or not be available to Bedrock players:

* Certain resource pack features may not apply
* Some chat formatting and clickable links may not render
* Client-side mods such as Distant Horizons are not available on Bedrock
Players can support DiplomacyCraft by voting on Minecraft server listing sites. Voting rewards you with Gold Ingots and helps the server grow.

Every vote rewards you with 4 Gold Ingots (36G). Your vote is announced to the server when it is received. If you vote while offline, your reward is queued and delivered automatically the next time you log in.

How to Vote
Use
/vote
in-game to get the current voting links. The server is listed on the following sites:
Quarters is a Towny addon that allows mayors to carve out 3D sub-areas within their town's plots called quarters. Unlike standard Towny plots which are locked to a 16×16 chunk grid, quarters can be any shape made up of one or more cuboid regions, giving mayors fine-grained control over individual rooms, floors, apartments, or buildings.

Quarters are commonly used to divide a single townblock into multiple rentable spaces — for example, splitting a tall building into individual floors or apartments that different residents can own independently.

__TOC__

How Quarters Work
A quarter is defined by one or more rectangular cuboid regions staked out inside a town's claimed plots. Once created, a quarter has its own ownership and permissions that layer on top of the underlying plot. Quarters are additive — they grant permissions to players who would not otherwise have access, but they do not remove permissions from anyone who already has access to the plot through ownership or a town rank.

Quarters are automatically deleted if the townblock they sit in is unclaimed or the town is disbanded.

Creating a Quarter
Only mayors and councillors can create quarters. The process uses a wand item (a piece of flint by default) to select the two corners of a cuboid region.

Step 1: Select Your Corners
Hold a piece of flint and:
* Left-click a block to set Position 1
* Right-click a block to set Position 2

Alternatively, stand at each corner and use:

/q pos1
— Sets Position 1 at your feet

/q pos2
— Sets Position 2 at your feet

A particle outline will appear around your selected cuboid while you are holding the wand.

Step 2: Add the Selection
/q selection add
— Adds the current cuboid to your quarter selection.

Repeat Steps 1 and 2 if the quarter needs to be made of multiple cuboids (e.g. an L-shaped room or a stairwell).

Step 3: Create the Quarter
/q create
— Finalises the selection and creates the quarter.

Note: Quarters cannot overlap with other quarters, extend into wilderness, or span across multiple towns.

Selling & Claiming Quarters
Quarters can be sold to residents (or non-residents if set as an embassy) and purchased directly in-game, similar to plots.

Putting a Quarter Up For Sale
Stand inside the quarter and run:

/q sell [price]
— Lists the quarter for sale at the specified price in Gold (G).

To cancel the sale:

/q sell cancel

Buying a Quarter
Stand inside a quarter that is for sale and run:

/q claim
— Purchases the quarter. The Gold is transferred to the seller immediately.

Embassy Quarters
By default, only residents of the town can purchase a quarter. To allow non-residents to buy:

/q toggle embassy
— Toggles embassy status on the quarter.

Note: If embassy status is later removed, any non-resident owner will lose ownership of the quarter.

Trusting Players
Quarter owners can give other players full access to their quarter without transferring ownership:

/q trust add [player]
— Grants a player full access to the quarter.

/q trust remove [player]
— Removes a player's trusted access.

Quarter Types
Mayors and councillors can change the type of a quarter to extend its functionality. The default type is apartment. All types are additive to the apartment type's behaviour.

/q type [type]
— Changes the type of the quarter you are standing in.

Refer to in-game help or the Discord for the list of available types on this server.

Viewing Quarter Information
/q here
— Displays information about the quarter you are currently standing in, including its owner, type, and trust list.

/q list
— Lists quarters you own.
Tips for Mayors
* Quarters are ideal for high-density town areas — a single townblock can house many players each with their own private space.
* Use embassy quarters to allow players from other towns to rent or buy space in your town without making them a resident.
* Particle outlines help residents identify their quarter's boundaries. Hold flint while standing near a quarter to see its outline.
* Quarters do not prevent the mayor or other plot-level permission holders from accessing the space — they only add access for the quarter owner on top of existing plot rules.

Creating a Shop
To create a shop, place a chest in your town and run the setup command while looking at it:

/shop create [price] [buy/sell/both] [item]

For example, to sell 64 cobblestone for 5G each:

/shop create 5 sell cobblestone

The chest will be converted into a shop. A sign is automatically attached showing the item, price, and whether the shop buys, sells, or both.

Note: Shops can only be created on plots you own within a town. You cannot create shops in the wilderness.

Buy, Sell, and Both

both
| Customers can do either — buy from or sell to your shop

Using a Shop
Right-click any shop chest to open a menu showing the item for sale, the price, and available stock. Click to buy or sell as prompted. The Gold is transferred instantly between your balance and the shop owner's balance.

Managing Your Shops
Viewing Your Shops
/shop list
— Lists all shops you own, including their location and current stock.

Removing a Shop
/shop remove
— Look at your shop chest and run this command to remove the shop. The chest and its contents are returned to normal.

Setting a Price
/shop setprice [price]
— Look at your shop chest to update its price.

Stocking a Shop
Simply add items to the chest inventory to restock a sell shop. For a buy shop, ensure your chest has enough Gold deposited to pay customers.

Staff Shops
Admins can create unlimited admin shops that never run out of stock. These function as infinite sources or sinks for items at a fixed price.
Searching for Shops
Players can support DiplomacyCraft by voting on Minecraft server listing sites. Voting rewards you with Gold Ingots and helps the server grow.

__TOC__

Rewards
Every vote rewards you with 4 Gold Ingots (36G). Your vote is announced to the server when it is received. If you vote while offline, your reward is queued and delivered automatically the next time you log in.

How to Vote
Use
/vote
in-game to get the current voting links. The server is listed on the following sites:

* Minecraft Server List
* Minecraft Servers

Each site resets every 24 hours, so you can claim rewards from both sites daily. The
/vote
command also shows your current total vote count.

Bedrock Players
Bedrock players must enter their username with a
.
(period) at the front when submitting a vote on a listing site — for example,
.Steve
instead of
Steve
. This matches the username as it appears in-game. See Bedrock Support for more information.

Leaderboard
A top voters leaderboard is available in-game showing the 10 highest vote counts. Use
/vote
to view your standing.

Connecting
Bedrock players connect using the standard Bedrock server address and port rather than the Java address. If you are unsure of the Bedrock connection details, check the Discord or ask an admin in-game.

Note: Bedrock players will have their username prefixed with a
.
(period) in-game to distinguish them from Java players. This prefix is also required when entering your username on voting sites.

Limitations
Due to differences between the Java and Bedrock clients, some features may behave differently or not be available to Bedrock players:

* Certain resource pack features may not apply
* Some chat formatting and clickable links may not render
* Client-side mods such as Distant Horizons are not available on Bedrock
Distant Horizons is a Minecraft client-side mod that generates Level of Detail (LOD) chunks, allowing you to see far beyond the server's normal render distance. DiplomacyCraft supports Distant Horizons connections.

__TOC__

What It Does
Distant Horizons replaces distant chunks with simplified LOD meshes, letting you render hundreds or even thousands of blocks into the distance without the performance cost of loading full chunks. On a map server like DiplomacyCraft, this means you can see the shape of continents, mountain ranges, and distant towns from a high vantage point.

Installation
# Download Distant Horizons from Modrinth or CurseForge.
# Install it into your mod loader (Fabric or Forge) alongside your other client mods.
# Launch the game and connect to DiplomacyCraft as normal.

Recommended Settings
For best results on DiplomacyCraft, the following in-game settings are suggested:

LOD Render Distance || 128–256 chunks || Higher values look great but require more RAM
Quality Preset || Medium or High || Balanced between visual quality and performance
Enable Distant Generation || Off || Generates fake terrain; disable to see only real server data

Compatibility
Distant Horizons is compatible with most client-side mods. If you are using a performance mod stack (e.g. Sodium, Iris), ensure you are using versions confirmed compatible with Distant Horizons for your Minecraft version. Check the Distant Horizons wiki for the current compatibility matrix.

Towny is the land claiming and town management plugin used on DiplomacyCraft. It allows players to found towns, claim land, form nations, manage taxes, and protect their builds from outsiders. This page documents how Towny is configured on this server.

__TOC__

Overview
Towny divides the world into a grid of townblocks — each one a 16×16 column of land stretching the full height of the world. Players can band together to found towns, claim townblocks, and build protected communities. Towns can confederate into nations, and nations can ally or declare war on one another.

Towns
Founding a Town
Creating a new town costs 576G. New towns receive a bonus of 24 townblocks at creation on top of whatever their resident count provides.

New towns are created with the following defaults:
* Public: No (players cannot /t spawn without permission)
* Open: No (players must be invited to join)
* Neutral: No
* War allowed: Yes
* PVP: Enabled
* Fire spread: Disabled
* Explosions: Disabled
* Mobs in town: Disabled

Townblocks & Claiming
A town's maximum number of claimable townblocks is determined by its resident count multiplied by a ratio of 12. As an example, a town with 10 residents can claim up to 120 townblocks (plus any bonus blocks).

Each townblock costs 36G to claim. Unclaiming a townblock provides no refund.

Towns must maintain a buffer of at least 4 townblocks away from another town's nearest claim, and at least 8 townblocks away from another town's homeblock. Outposts are disabled on this server.

Town Levels
As a town grows its resident count, it advances through levels that grant a title prefix to the town's name and its mayor. Town level is determined by resident count.

Residents !! Town Prefix !! Mayor Title !! Max Townblocks
0 (unclaimed area) || Rural area of || — || 1
1+ || Regional area of || Councillor || 16
4+ || Regional village of || Councillor || 32
8+ || Shire of || Mayor || 96
12+ || Village of || Mayor || 192
16+ || Town of || Lord Mayor || 288
20+ || City of || Lord Mayor || 384
24+ || Grand City of || Grand Mayor || 480
28+ || Metropolis of || Grand Mayor || 480

The town prefix and mayor title are displayed automatically based on the town's current resident count.

Taxes
Towns start with a default tax of 0% (percentage-based). Mayors can configure taxes up to a maximum of 25% or a flat cap of 1,000G. Plot tax, shop tax, and embassy tax all default to 0. See Economy for details on how Gold works.

Daily taxes are collected once per day at 12:00 server time (noon). Towns with 0 claimed townblocks are automatically deleted at the next daily cycle.

Residents
Players who have not logged in for 60 days will have their resident data deleted, including their economy account. If a deleted player was a mayor, mayoral succession rules apply.

Upkeep
Town upkeep is currently set to 0G — towns do not pay a daily server charge to remain active.

Nations
Founding a Nation
Creating a nation costs 5,184G.

To join a nation, a town's homeblock must be within 128 townblocks of the nation capital's homeblock, or within 64 townblocks of another town already in the nation.

Nation Levels
Nations advance through levels based on their total resident count across all member towns.

Residents !! Nation Prefix !! Leader Title !! Bonus Town Townblocks !! Nation Zone Size
60+ || The … Realm || God Emperor || +140 || 3

Bonus Town Townblocks is additional claiming space granted to each town in the nation on top of their resident-based limit.

Nation Upkeep
Nation upkeep is currently set to 0G — nations do not pay a daily server charge to remain active.

Proximity Rules
A town must be within 128 townblocks of its nation's capital to remain in the nation. If out of range of the capital, it may still qualify if it is within 64 townblocks of another nation member town.

Economy
All costs on this page are denominated in Gold (G). See the Economy page for exchange rates between Gold Nuggets, Gold Ingots, and Gold Blocks.

Costs at a Glance
Town & Nation Banks
Both towns and nations have bank accounts with no hard cap by default. Mayors can deposit and withdraw freely. If a town or nation is deleted, the remaining Gold balance is paid out to the mayor or king.

Death Penalties
There is no Gold penalty on death.

Plot Types
Towns can designate townblocks as different plot types. Each type is shown on the ASCII map with a different character.

Permissions
Default Town Permissions
When a town is created, the following build/destroy/item-use/switch permissions apply to outsiders by default:

Group !! Build !! Destroy !! Item Use !! Switch
Outsiders || ✗ || ✗ || ✗ || ✗

Wilderness
Outside of town claims, all players can freely build, destroy, use items, and interact with switches. Wilderness explosion damage from creepers, TNT, and similar entities is automatically reverted.

Spawning
* /t spawn is available to town members. Spawning to other public towns is permitted with a 30-second cooldown.
* /n spawn is available to nation members and can be used to teleport to allied nations.
* Nation spawn must be set within the capital city.
* Respawn protection lasts 10 seconds after death.

Jail
Towns with a jail plot can detain players. Jailing of enemies killed in PVP and jailing of outlaws are both currently disabled on this server. The maximum jail sentence a mayor can set is 5 hours. Players are given a jail book explaining their options upon being jailed.

Jailed players cannot use:
home, spawn, teleport, tp, tpa, tpahere, back, dback, ptp, jump, kill, warp, suicide

Towny divides the world into a grid of townblocks — each one a 16×16 column of land stretching the full height of the world. Players can band together to found towns, claim townblocks, and build protected communities. Towns can confederate into nations, and nations can ally or declare war on one another.

0 (unclaimed area) || Rural area of || — || 1
28+ || Metropolis of || Grand Mayor || 480

0+ || Land of || — || +10 || 1
60+ || The … Realm || God Emperor || +140 || 3

Group !! Build !! Destroy !! Item Use !! Switch
Residents || ✓ || ✓ || ✓ || ✓
Nation members || ✗ || ✗ || ✗ || ✗
Allies || ✗ || ✗ || ✗ || ✗
Outsiders || ✗ || ✗ || ✗ || ✗

ASCII Map
Use
/towny map
in-game to view a 27×7 ASCII grid of the area around you. The following symbols are used:
